Chris Weston

A long-held fascination with animal behaviour and the mechanics of the natural world are the foundation for Chris’s work in wildlife and natural history photography.

Chris’s career in photography began in 1998. Since then he has travelled extensively throughout Africa, south-east Asia, North America and Europe, documenting wildlife, natural habitats and the landscape.

About his style of photography Chris remarks, “For me the camera is my means of capturing those brief moments when light and circumstance come together to inform us best of how nature works, with all its simplicity and complexity; its intimacy and remoteness.”

The quality of Chris’s work and his ethical approach to his subjects were recognised in 2003 by Canopy, a US-based conservation NGO, when he became one of only two photographers worldwide to receive affiliate membership.

Elsewhere, Chris’s images have been used around the world in various publications and by commercial organisations. He is the author of over twenty books, including a joint project with world-renowned photographic artist, Art Wolfe; he lectures in photography and wildlife and leads several UK and overseas-based workshops and safaris.
